Hotel Prins Hendrik

Hotel Prins Hendrik is a charming three-star family/business hotel with 46 rooms. The hotel has a cozy bar, a restaurant and apartments and is located in the heart of Amsterdam directly opposite Central Station. From this easily accessible location you are everywhere in no time. All rooms are equipped with a television, telephone and a bathroom.

History

The hotel is already several hundred years old. Until 1900, there were still eleven separate buildings with bars and upstairs the so-called "ship lodgings". These buildings are now connected to each other by means of stairs, corridors and passageways, but they have all retained their own character. This makes all 46 rooms unique with their own history.

Chet Baker's fall out the window

Did you know that Hotel Prins Hendrik is an interested place for jazz lovers, because Jazz legend Chet Baker stayed here in 1988, but his life came to a tragic end? On the outside wall of the hotel you will find a memorial plaque for him.

Cafe and restaurant

The hotel has its own bar called Café De Groote Swaen. Hotel guests as well as local residents come to the traditional old Amsterdam café that is dated from 1789. You can also enjoy snacks or order dishes from the menu of restaurant De Kroonprins, which is also located in the complex. In the summer it is also a nice location sit on the spacious terrace with a view of the Sint Nicolaaskerk, the Zeedijk and the Central Station.
